Many professional people within the NHS know that social activities like; gardening, fishing, swimming, walking and painting , can really help people with their mental health.
More recently the NHS have recognised and are promoting 'Therapeutic Photography' which can also help in a number of ways, by improving people's mental health, wellbeing, loneliness, boost their self esteem and confidence.
There are people with mental health issues, who really struggle to explain their feelings, emotions, or thoughts using words, which often makes it difficult to express how they are feeling, let alone what help they may, or may not require.
That's why we have put together some nice and easy, 'Therapeutic Photography' Workshops and photowalks to help people who are struggling with loneliness, depression, anxiety, stress and a number of mental health conditions. These workshops and photowalks are for people aged (18yrs + including mature or retired people).
Once you start to understand how you can get more out of your photography, it opens up a new world of creativity which really can help
boost your confidence and self-esteem. After all
‘a picture is worth a thousand words’
and photography can be a really powerful outlet for self-expression.
